HRISTOS VOSKRESE mikebg. Thank you for the explanation. I plan to make BARACUDA PI detector http://www.geotech1.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17396 . Electronic components have not yet arrived, and discuss the best options for the coil, to be "Dual Field PI Coils" http://www.geotech1.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16691 . I know that "monocoil is the worst sensor". Theoretically it would be najbojim to produce a two PI detectors in one. In a similar way as was done by Thomas Scaraborough (BFO two detectors in one and got the CCO and BB detectors). The principle of two PI field in one coil (DD or OO), probably exists in newer models of Minelab's. Unfortunately there is no public schemes so for now we need to satisfy what we have. BARACUDA has an interesting audio discrimination that could be applied to other designs PI.

HAPPY EASTER!
To all!
Search for books written by Henry W. Ott.
He explains the shielding in several excellent textbooks.

I think (but not sure) that James H. Ott is his son. James is inventor in patents for piercing metal detector (Periscope).

hello
i have to add a second layer to the planar coil i made above
so that are nearly 48 turns
give some more resistance and some more inductivity
and better performance
when the specs are so low like my posting above the tip127 will heat up
thats the first sign thats something wrong with coil
i use wire h05vk 0,5mm (lapp kabel)
