  • 1266x box disassembly

I would like to adjust the pot that changes the audio frequency. My highly technical question is : How in hell does the control box come apart? lol Thank you

If I remember correctly, you need to unscrew the nut that secures the coil connector on the back of the box.

Not at all a silly question, this same one have me foxed for hourse when I first started repairing machines!!

Be VERY CAREFUL to adjust the right pot though. 1266's are a b*tch to set up if you get settings wrong.

        Thank you

for the responses. I will be sure to triple check before I touch anything in there. Back in the 70s, I was extremely good at screwing up my CB radios. Always trying to improve something and rarely with success!

          Hi 1266x,

There are only 2 screws beneath the coilcable-connector
to open the box. Don't tear the batterie-cables apart
while dragging the board out of the housing.

The audio-frequency only slightly can be changed.

I also spent many hours to finetrim radio-pots over and over!
