  • New minelab detector in less than 24 hours

    http://www.minelab.com/emea/consumer

    Any suppositions?
Hopefully it will bring some technological advances, not just ergonomic features. If in their treasure detectors category I see price somewhere 1500-2500 dollars.

                The Future of Discovery
                Coming soon ...
                The Countdown is on...
You may have noticed our homepage has recently been taken over by a 48 hour countdown. We can’t give any details just yet, but there is some very exciting news coming soon about ‘The Future of Discovery’. We can’t wait to share it with you, so check back to find out more when the countdown hits zero...

The countdown will hit zero in 01:30 GMT, but what means "The Future of Discovery"?
I tried to translate the phrase "future of discovery" in other languages:
                die Zukunft der Entdeckung
                el futuro de descubrimiento
                L'avenir de la Découverte
                будущееоткрытия
I looked for information about this phrase on the Web; there is a lot, but not in Wikipedia.
Let we see what is discovered.

Everything what comes from Minelab should be considered seriously.
So far Minelab did very serious machines mostly.
I had FT16000, Musketeer Colt, Musketeer XS, Sovereign GT, Explorer XS, Explorer SE and GP3000.
All of those were very serious and very fine products.
My favorite from that list still is Explorer SE.
We will have to wait and see new product tonight.
I bet it will be something more advanced and very interesting.
                  Looking forward.

Carl, there is NOT VFLEX Tech they had anounced in X-Terra. it is a lie. really in the coil is setted a recognizer Self-Alien so you can not turn yourself made coil on Minelab. THAT IS ONLY THE TRICK FOR PROTECTION - you HAVE TO BUY ONLY Minelab made coils. nothing more. no magic there!

                    будущееоткрытия

будущее открытий... ересь IMHO. better would be discovery of future открытие будущего

                      Minelab: detector launch dates

                      hmm, that's very interesting...
I was actually expecting this Minelab update around January of this year.

about two years back I had made a list of the launch dates of all Explorers and the E-TRAC
and compared the time in between to estimated Minelabs next revision of the E-TRAC...

                      Code:
                      ------------------------------------------------------------------

launch dates & time in between

December 1999 Explorer S and XS
                        3.4 yrs
                               May 2003 Explorer II
                        3.3 yrs
                               September 2006 Explorer SE
                        1.8 yrs
                               June 2008 Explorer SE Pro

                      ------------------------------------------------------------------

                        expected E-TRAC revision

                               September 2008 E-TRAC launch
                        3.4 yrs
                               January 2012 (expected E-TRAC revision)

                      ------------------------------------------------------------------

                        expected new Minelab

                               December 1999 Explorer launch
                        8.8 yrs
                               September 2008 E-TRAC launch
                        8.8 yrs
                               June 2017 (expected new Minelab)

                      ------------------------------------------------------------------
looks like my playing around with numbers wasn't for nothing after all, but now we'll have
to see whether it'll be a whole new Minelab, a revamped E-TRAC, or just a pinpointer...

                          *LOL*

Oh, it's going to be extraordinary expensive now. All those 47 frequencies do cost. Each of them individually.
Can I have only three frequencies (low, mid, high)? Would it cost only 3/47 of the total price?

                          Now the ice cream:
Do I have to license the frequencies from Dr. Candy? Well, he has invented & patented the frequencies now.

                          Aziz,
                          the LOLmaster

                            what new there

                            1. color screen, like to Vision.
                            2. wireless transfer of audio, like to Deus.
                            3. underwater 3m max deep, like to AT PRO. hmmm.... point 2 is not working.
                            4. all Arduino possibility to make and to soft a Robot. point 3 has to be extended - deep as 150m for hunting the gold from the galleons.

If we take their presentation of the E-trac , it was "the evolution of discovery" , now if the new detector is "the future of discovery" , it may imply that is has some new applied technology that in the future will be improved further.
