  • Hi frequency VLF?

Has anyone got a schematic or an Idea to build a high frequency ..something similar to a gold bug2 ..71hz detector.
No need for Disc, just beep and dig.
But needs to be tolerant of mineralised ground.
    Chasing very small gold.
Maybe this could make a new forum project?
    Cheers
    Regards
    John

Good for start (for frequency adjustment you can use small brass rod inside coil of reference oscillator):

      Thanks wm6 for reply.
I am not sure if a bfo would be a good choice on mineralised ground.
I would think it would pick up everything..hot rocks etc.
      Thanks

Yes, but gold response on mineralised ground can be covered by hot rock, and this is hard to distinguish by VLF's.

So better to look for a PI detector, like easy to build Surf PI or Barracuda...

          Yes, Thankyou WM6.
My first question was for a 70mhz VLF machine similar to goldbug2, That could handle mineralised ground .
I seem to have asked for something thats not been perhaps discussed here before.
I do have Surf and Baracuda Kits ,yet un built. But I think with research on this forum that they would not suit my purpose. ( unless someone has experience in Australia with the PI's mentioned?? )
          Any Ideas?
          All help gratefully excepted.
          Regards
          John
