  • Are bigger 1mx1m coil less sensible for small objects than smaller round coils?

    Hello,

I have tested recently a bigger coil 1m x 1m with a Lorenz LPX2 detector. The sensibility for small iron objects using such 1mx1m coil is much worse than using a round 35cm coil with this same detector. Could not even detect bigger coins just under the detector. I have a friend that have used a PULSE STAR with a 1mx1m coil and he told me that with this setup he could detect smaller iron objects as the round 35cm coil can. Is it true? Or 1mx1m is really less sensible for smaller iron objects?

    Thanks in advance,

Yes, less sensitive to small objects. Small coil picks up small items but not as deep. Large coil detects larger items very deep but not good with small items.
