Yes, my friend Esteban, unfortunately our champion is gone.

I talked to him about 5 days ago on the phone. He sounded very opaque and not the bright person we are used to.

Things got worse when a couple of days ago he fell from the stairs and broke his leg. In the hospital, he got accumulation of liquid in his lungs. Due to his diabethes his kidneys failed and he passed away last night.

I just called my friends at Mineoro to give my deepest condolences to his wife and sons.

I intend in a few hours to post a homage to him in this forum.
God bless him for the wonderful contribution he leaves in treasure hunting tech knowledge.

We deeply mourn for him.

Hi,
well... it's not the kind of news people wanna read, anyway.

It's life... a little incident or not predictable event and it's that dang simple leaving this world.

It's something to meditate about.

Kind regards,
Max

michael 07-15-2009 08:10 PM

Give my personal consolation and sympathy to his family.
life is this, exact like a caravan we're the passengers in, to come in world and do our best to gather scores and become ready to start a new life in other world which is eternal. this is all of us destiny.
but our attitude there depends on our manner, behaviors and works here.
may god have mercy upon his soul.

I break an egg and put it in a small container for microwave oven and take it 1 minute at max. temp. in microwave oven. So, you obtain an egg "Ã* la poche" (poached egg).

If you genuflect each time for an egg, I think you cook directly in the soil!

Hi Esteban,
You should try without breaking the egg :D

The explosions are frequent using microwaves...

Don't surprise me much... that old technician I know when repairing powerful microwave transmitters stay always indoor , far from antenna!

These stuff are HOT... and fry people really easy... expecially eyes are critical points.

So... if you'd ever considered of dismantling a microwave oven for harvesting some component... well... think a million times before... if you don't know exactly what are you doing...

Not matter of eggs broke... but very serious stuff could happen...

Or do you really need a magnetron for your next LRL ???

Kind regards,
Max

Already donet that, funny and cool.If you wife don´t see it.
Probably the best way to really erase it, too :D
Most usefull part in oven (for me) is HV transformer.Plenty of uses...

3KV stuff.... or something... hard to use directly... but there's also output for heater... if I remember well (I don't dismantle one from a long time...)

maybe 5V or 6.3V ???

Well... low but what hi current!

Can power a car's ignition if put two in series... :D

Then how do you use them ???

3KV + some multiply thing... you'll easy go for 100KV and more... and hi current.... can fry mosquitos ...also birds... maybe fly down a plane...

Seems like you like to play with hi voltage...

Kind regards,
Max

Fred 07-29-2009 05:49 PM

Hi Max,
It´s 3.3Vnormally,
I use them to make a ionised tube above me to travel faster to gold deposits.
Seriously, as the primary is made on a diferent coil, it is easy to remove the secondary , also iron are separated and easy to open.
You can then:
-use the wire for other stuff
-rewind with a big thick wire (normally about 1V/turn), and make the big power supply you always wanted.
- Put them in parallel or serie (depending or voltage you made them) and make a cheap welding machine.
-Make the 220/110 transformer you need for this surplus stuff you bought,or use 2 of them to make a mono/triphasic conversor...
Or just use them in special configuration to avoid the grounding problem and make a good tube RF power amplifier.
and there´s more but i can´t tell you because it´s long range device
Regards,
Fred.
