It is not necessary to open an Examiner to stop the handle from swiveling. But even if you opened it to stop the handle from swiveling or other mods, you still did not show any meter readings that indicate variances inside at the diode connected to the pot like you claimed you did.
I can see why you are anxious to close this matter.
