No movie or anybody's claims can convince you of the validity of the lrls. There is one way and it is to try one on the real ground. Unfortunately commercial lrls have a high price and I would not even do such a thing without being sure of good functioning. The best and cheaper solution is to realize one if you have the ability to achieve it. There are several schemes in this forum, mostly derived from Alonzo PD, but on these I can not say with certainty that they work as I have unsuccessfully made a specimen several years ago, but the main criticism is that they are complicated to accomplish, since these are a modified metal detector with the consequent need to align the coils (transmitter and receiver) in addition to the ferrite coil. In my opinion there is only one alternative practice that you can easily find on this forum; this is a completely free project with all the explanations, without coils that need to be aligned and with easy-to-find components.
