Except to some degree, if you use Thermal camera.

But thermal camera also is not able to see under surface,
it only scan surface temperature of soil on which trough different
conductivity of (bigger) parts under surface accumulate different
surface temperature.

Those surface temperature are able thermal camera to sense
and differentiate to more or less precise surface temperature scan.

FYI I am building camera that can see trough the Earth on black hole in space.
NASA verified. Very simple THC excitation and no hoax whatsoever.
Serious people are able to get the same results and don't mock at others.
In my case 33m deep (one eye sight only), not only poor 12m as in your case.

VERY WELL but are you sure the ant is underground? a great video just try to film this ant under the camera and compare sizes

At first, the camera picked up an ant, the size of which was close to half the screen, then I lifted the device until I confirmed whether it was superficial or not. I did not find anything, but at the end of the video, this mouse is running and it is clear until I was amazed at the clip
