Tuned dowsing rods

Been thinking about these rods and I don't see much need for pure copper. I found some 3/16" x .014" (4.76 mm x .355 mm) brass tubing and some 5/32" (3.96 mm) brass rod for the handle. I have some thin magnet wire don't know the gauge but it's thin, maybe too thin to work with, but it would be much lighter weight. Probably will not be able to match his 64x.

He claims experienced dowsers can get better results. I don't know, he throws a lot of terms out there to confuse the buyer. LOL Just by extrapolation I come up with about 1200 turns on the brass tubing. I plan to use an electric drill to wind it and just guess about how many turns per inch. I don't have a clue what frequency he is trying to get for a given magnetic field strength. I come up with about 18 meters for 54000 field strength. Apporximately 18 meter half-wave dipole is for 8.3 MHz. What is that? I sure don't know.
BTW, I had an old Fred Stewart rod had a coil of wire on the rod near the handle.
This thing is probably a big waste of time. LOL

I am sure that you have better ways to spend your time!!Originally posted by Mike(Mont) View PostHe claims experienced dowsers can get better results. One thing I gleaned from this webpage has to do with rod length. He says rod length between 6.5" - 13.75" (16.5 cm - 35 cm) and magnetic field strength between 23,000 - 60,000. When I figure for my field strength 54130, it comes out to approximately (in my head without calculating) rod length just under 13" (33 Cm). This is almost exactly what I have been using for rod length and I have a feeling that this is an important parameter. I have never seen it mentioned that there is a correlation between rod length and magnetic field strength.

Yes, and on the other end of the scale someone who is a poor dowser even a good rod will not help much. My firm belief is people tend to psyche themselves out and think too much. I say pick a spot out in front of you a ways and look at it and don't think about the dowsing. It is essential to keep the conscious mind out of the way.
Like Hills says, a good carpenter can use most tools and get them to work but he cannot drill a one inch hole with a two inch bit.
