I agree about skin resistance. I saw a set of powered l-rods. Had a nine volt battery and a piezo tweeter. I figured when you are on a target your skin resistivity lowers and this makes for a small current through the rods and the piezo buzzer. Very small current is only felt subliminally. Other times painful shock. LOL
Okay, but it is only one hand. Louis Turenne's early "Y" rods had a coil of wire at the tip. I guess it was a weak electric generator. I don't know if the human body could charge the coil to turn it into an electromagnet. LOL He later went to magnet-fitted "Y"-rod.
