spherical body

I have spherical body weighted nearly 15 gm ( heavy more than it is size) and it's measure 17 mm and it is dark shape and reflects the light by prism interfaces but it is not transparent and there is one polar dark more than the body
I try to put the magnet to touch it put no response as it consists of iron!
Is this body meteor or falling stone and what is the value of it if we discover it came from out space ????

Hi,
it's out of focus and cannot see if seems from space or not. The "prisms" are probaby crystal surfaces of this thing that have an effect similar to a prism made of glass.

There are many metallic meteor fragments around... some , like ones from Meteor Crater are sold online or in great expositions made along the year in various places in the world, expecially USA.

Famous metallic meteors are really appreciate by collectors... and payd on weight and shape...how they appear. Most of them show particular fusion crust...and aerodynamic melt at edges. Some contain also carbonium compounds.

Usually metallic ones are made of iron, nickel and other heavy metals. they are all magnetic as I know, cause of strong alignment of magnetic dipoles due to melting and crystal grown.

Prices are quite variable... from few tens of $ for small pieces (e.g. 20gr) of some meteors from Russia to many thousands dollars for pieces of truly "famous" ones... the bigger the higher the price.

Actually what you found could be of terrestrial origin, like e.g. hydrothermal "nodules" but without proper focused picture is impossible say anything about.

I see... but these are supposed not being magnetic...

I think could be a metallic crystal nodule or some meteorite fragment.

no, I think it isn't.

Why ? Cause I have seen with my eyes some of these metallic stuff... if that in the picture it's metallic I mean.

But probably he will not post it! I think I can live without see that pearl too.
