Hi all.
Frankly last time I feel in this forum we are members of the second category. Why;;; I'll try to explain. If you start from the home page "longrangelocators" will see a page with two lines that go directly to our forums. There, they have put the issues of remote sensing, and they let us to continue. This time the only point that has detected that mentioned on this page is in the off topic Geotech, nowhere else. If someone does not read the "off topic" will never realize that there is here this forum. If we are only 30 people, and we write between us, then it's probably better to go somewhere else where we will be more. How many can tell whether we are the same members continually;;;;
Ignoring for this forum is clear, not a Christmas ornament, as in Geotech, absolutely nothing. Shows as threw us a page to to rid our presence in Geotech. I like to think it's just my fantasy.

I believe it is no fantasy.
I believe the intent of making an LRL forum separate from Geotech was to rid the presence of LRLs from Geotech.
The reason is clear: Geotech is for real electronic engineers who build real circuits that other readers can build and see that they are working to help locate metal.
Geotech does not want people who do not show secret circuits that nobody can find the schematic for, or build or test to see if they are working.
And Geotech does not support the sale of LRLs which the sellers are not willing to show a public demonstration that they work to pass a scientific randomized test.

Why should the LRL forum be advertised?
For what reason should there be publicity to send thousands of people to watch this forum?
Does more people reading the LRL forum help to improve the forum in some way?
I think more readers does not improve the LRL forum.

Already I see many of the readers are asking questions that show they are completely incompetent to build circuits that they ask about.
I see a few readers who ask for people to help them to build every single LRL circuit they can find.
They talk about how it is urgent for them to have these LRL circuits, but they do not seem to build any of them.
They do not build the circuits -- instead, they ask the same questions again, after their questions are answered.
And they ask for the circuit again after it was given to them.
Then, after they decide not to build the circuit they asked for, they ask for a new circuit and repeat the same process for a new LRL.

It seems they do not have basic understanding of electronics or of the English language.
I do not think it will help to find more people like this coming to the LRL forum.
This kind of forum discussions moves the attention away from people who are making serious experiments with LRLs.
It is a waste of time for experimenters to answer questions that were already answered, and to provide circuits that were already given.
I do not think this is the kind of forum that the owner of Geotech would be proud to say is part of his geotechnical forum.
And I do not think the owner of this forum is strongly motivated to build it to become larger, after seeing what kind of material people are posting here.

But maybe I am wrong,
Maybe the LRL forum would be greatly improved if there were thousands of people visiting, and this forum would improve in unexpected ways.
Maybe it would become as wonderful as the stellar, educational T-net LRL section, or maybe as good as the Greek forum.
Would more readers actually improve the topics in this forum?
Or would more readers only serve to build a bigger audience for people who want to brag about their secret LRLs in order to gain glory?

It seems very clear to me that the owner of Geotech does not believe that any LRLs are working to locate buried metal.
It seems clear to me that Geotech does not want to be associated with a forum full of LRLs which nobody has ever submitted to a randomized scientific test to prove that they are working.
The LRL forum is clearly a forum for hobbyists who have no need to prove anything, not even that to prove that they have an understanding of science.
Geotech is not for people who do not understand what kind of circuit they are building and have no idea what they are talking about.
If someone goes to Geotech and asks for help to build a receiver that will detect the MNR frequency of buried gold from a 9v receiver circuit, they will be quickly sent away.
Maybe Geotech does not want their serious electronics topics to become burdened with heaps of ignorant posts which fill their pages with nonsense written by people who don't even understand basic electronics.
If this is the case, then I don't blame Geotech to want to rid themselves of LRLs.
I would not want to waste my time teaching basic electronics to uneducated people when I go to a forum like Geotech to read cutting edge metal detector circuits and experiments.
Wasting time teaching basic electronics to uneducated people is for the LRL forum, not for a cutting edge electronics forum like Geotech.

For example TGS has about 5000 replies and IGSL has other 1000 replies. At least the last 2..3 years i read every day about problems with TGS. Where is the high level??? OK, there are other threads very good but i want to say that for the Geotech was not only the remote sensing the problem of "low level".
And from another side, some lrl are 10 times front of MDs.
When they will understand it, it will be very late.

Hmmm....
I think most scientist were last to believe the earth is not flat.
Most scientists believed only after Columbus brought back things from America that they never saw before.
When they saw with their eyes, then they knew it is time to make new scientific theories for a round earth.
Only a very few scientists knew the earth is round before Columbus proved it.

But still, Geotech is not for secret circuits that cannot be built, and not for detectors that cannot pass a randomized scientific test.
All of the circuits that are built in Geotech will pass a randomized scientific test to perform as they were designed to perform.

My opinion is that secrecy regarding LRL projects is the beggining of all evil regarding the future of this forum.
Do you want to keep something for yourself? Of course it is completely your choice but then don't talk about it at all.
Starting saying something and then stoping it again by yourself is not really healthy.

Apart from this it will always be better if more readers come in.But for this to happen it will take time.I am also sure that while in Geotech it was many people reading remote sensing because they were in there for some other reason like building an MD for example. But now all these people don't show up here or we might never see them again in this forum. This is very bad because it was many of them helping whith their knowledge to improve the LRL ccts as well. They were visiting "remote sensing" not very often but it was enough to give the help required for more scientific basis as some like to call it.
J_P is right when he says that they are the same questions asked all over again and again. Yes, this will always happen in a project or thread but it is completely different when it happens in big time intervals and at least not from the same persons.
What happens is that you get tired and finally fed up loosing the interest to follow some thread or a project through time.

It feels like we left alone in this forum because Geotech was huge and it was only a tiny bit that moved here.
From some other point of view may be this forum needs some more things to go whith it rather than standing alone.
The "buy & sell" was a good idea. May be adding a section like treasure symbols or maps will even be better. Somebody else could say that a radio amateurs forum could fit here as well. As far as I know it is really many of them also in building LRLs.

They are many good ideas that can support this forum but even this will come after time and thinking and this is what I believe.

Hi g-sani,
I think Carl is telling us he has not had time to make all of the moves for LRL threads and updates for this forum yet.
This is a good time to keep the forum small until all the hard work is done.
After Carl and Qiaozhi finish putting all the posts where they must go, then they will be ready to make advertisements to bring more people here.
For now I think they want some time to finish making the changes before the forum becomes big.

If you think we should have an amateur radio section, because many amateur radio people are building LRLs, then maybe we should also have a fishing section...
because many treasure hunters are also fishermen...

Goldfish is the favourite amongst LRL users so why not?
