  • Dear Signore Geo, Greece

I am waiting your test results - good luck with your new two detectors at test field.
I wish you many big shiny yellow coins from the ancient times.

Thanks, i need some time more to finish it.
I"ll inform here with new photos
At LRLs the detail makes the difference

ps... Thanks for the file about magnetic current

          • Just did a quick search on diamagnetism. Turns out almost all elements have some amount of diamagnetic properties. One thing that brings out the magnetism is a changing magnetic field (like a frequency generator?). I saw something about gold nano-particles that have much higher diamagnetic properties. So now I wonder about the long time buried gold being easier to detect. Maybe those nano-particles surround it.

Getting back to the gold nano-rods being highly diamagnetic, at least since the 1980's Dell Winders and others have talked about micro particles of gold. Dell said 90% of all hits are from these insignificant amounts.

              • The gold nanoparticles are 14 times stronger than bulk gold.

Also of note is carbon is diamagnetic and many locators have a diamond frequency.

Of best known (Gold, Silver, Copper, Zinc) all.

But if, par example: Platinum, Aluminum and Titanium are for us noble metals, they are not diamagnetic, but paramagnetic.

And Iron is not only ferromagnetic metal, but there are some others like Nickel and Manganese (and some others) too.

If you wish to make for MD invisible coin, then take alloy based on Chromium with Iron, cause Chromium is Anti-ferromagnetic.

                  • I am near to finish my project.
Magnetic detector goes very good at field test. It detects a gold coin from 5m far very easy and a silver olate 10x10cm from the same distance. There are problems with the terrain so i can't test the detector from more far but i am sure that it can go at least from 10..15 m.
Problem is the Franco's detector that i have in the bottom of the case. It can't detect the objects even if i"ll move the detector exactly over the buried objects. Also Franco's detector (xtal version) don't works as compass if set the sensitivity at full... maybe it needs more gain, who knows????.... only Franco

                      • Hi Geo,
Yes with my lrl there is no signal over the target but it was what Esteban said. If there isn't compass effect with max gain it is necessary to increase the gain of the LM358. With the gain at most there must be the compass effect, so you have to decrease until it disappears.
You can say something more on the magnetic detector?
                        Regards

                        • Nice construction Geo. Is it without ferrite antenna?

                          • Hi Geo

That seem you didn't use ferrite core and if you use antenna instead ferrite why didn't use wire around antenna? maybe this method go to better.

                            • Pretty sure I saw a ferrite in the earlier photos.

                                Hi WM6.
No, there is a 20cm ferrite.
