    I think ferrite antennas is the best choice for vlf receivers.
    Like some at http://stormwise.com But in smaller Size!

        If you go to Steve McGreevy's website he has some info about his receivers. He says you need a stylist (whip) type antenna and that other antennas won't work for this type of receiver. Now maybe this is just for listening to whistlers, etc. I don't know. But you ought to read what he says before you go out and buy the wrong antenna.
