This is a most excellent forum and it is so because of the good administration.
My vote: The administrator stays.

About dowsing and other non scientific talk, I like to keep an open mind. We have seen in the past how paradigms are overturned and new discoveries show that science had still a lot to learn.
We all still have a lot to learn and I would love to see a dowsing science developing.
Science is proof.
Science is repeatable.

So please post some repeatable experiments. I and many others would love to repeat them.

Actually i have often been amazed by the tolerance of this forum administration, and the existence of this very thread, just because one guy disagree with the admin, proves it.
Qiaozhi has been doing a great job here, and his posts and personal opinion has nothing to do with the forum moderation.

Instead of making abusive comments against individuals or skeptics in general, it would make a welcome change for you guys to contribute some technical material or observations, rather than posting supposed facts based on blind faith or years of indoctrination.

I've taken more than my share of abuse in the last fifteen years on the forums from skeptics and LRL proponents. I try to be honest, and like the saying goes "The truth hurts." No one has ever accused me of being politically correct (quite the oxymoron, anyway). You skeptics have pulled every sick, deceptive, dirty trick in the book and many more. If I didn't love LRL's as much as I do I sure as Hell wouldn't be on ANY forum.

I've spent years trying to help skeptics but they don't want help. sam even admitted he enjoys ridiculing LRL proponents. First they abuse then they expect us to kiss their butt. That's how pimps operate. And you wonder why I am so disgusted. Let me just tell you something--I don't enjoy hurting ANYONE'S feelings. I know it happens--no matter what I say someone is going to find some reason to take offense. That's the "chip on your shoulder" thing. You can't believe how stupid I think you guys are. Why don't you get a frequency generator and go out and practice. You can't imagine how wonderful it is, but it takes a few weeks of daily practice and it is essential that you get over your negativity. That's not that difficult. I know some people can never get the chip off their shoulder.

thought i'd put in my 2 peneth's worth ,

the word "truth" was mentioned earlier , is that in regard to the video of LRL at the start of the other thread ??

i watched the low budget video ,

was quite entertained with all the razzle dazzle ,even chuckled a few times , and thought it was a mere joke from a comady sketch show or a **** take video like what you find on utube ,

IF a miricle discovery happened , then it would be all over the media big time ,

i'm not against LRL's , prove to me they work , and i'll accept them
bent metal dowsing rods work for finding drains , pipes etc...etc...
they have been proven to me, i can use them , they work , and i accept them ,

but something that looks like a mere app on an android bolted to whats poss a box with a battery in it with a switch (poss simply to keep phone powered up for 16 hours)

post re-made video , that shows man (or woman) with a shovel , digging up said finds.

this is first case in history of the forum anyone wishes to delete Qiaozhi from moderators. we must think why LRL frauds are very active just here in DIY field. no place in global net you can see them so active. only here they goes by biggest solid group. I vote - GO OUT, LRLERS, YOUR PLACE IN TOILET. Qiaozhi is best moderator your dirty hands off from him!

Admittedly Qiaozhi is LRL skeptic, but he is mostly reasonable, knowing, rational administrator with appropriate reflection & reaction to members request, So my vote: stay and keep administration.

From what I know there is no voting for administrators here unless the owner of the forum decides voting will be used to determine who is administrator.
Since it is a privately owned forum, I think we are fortunate that Carl appointed Qiaozhi as a forum administrator.

For one, Qiaozhi has contributed more of his time than anyone else, which is reflected in the number of posts we see he makes in the forum.
But his contributions are not simply making forum posts.
We see many of his posts are made to help people with technical things that range from electronics advice to handling file problems.

I see he often provides circuit solutions and other electronic information to people who experiment with LRLs.
It takes a special kind of person who is willing to help people in a cause that he does not agree with.
Keeping a remote sensing forum alive while allowing both skeptics and LRL believers to have their fair say is not an easy job.
Perhaps this is why we see overwhelming support from the skeptics, the undecided and the LRL enthusiasts all want Qiaozhi to stay as admin.

I see only two people who say they don't want Qiaozhi to administer the forum.
If this was not a privately owned forum, and if voting determined who is administrator, then it appears Qiaozhi would easily be voted as the admin by a landslide victory.
Could it be that Carl knows what it takes to administer a forum, and has chosen a very capable administrator?

I for one am sick of Qiaozhi's Administration with his biasing of this subject and call for a NEW ADMINISTRATOR. Were going nowhere on the LRL trail! And it's taking too long!

I have a hard time believing that something like this was actually posted!

Wanting to remove the Administrator from Forum that has for years given you a place to post your ideas your LRL stuff is simply amazing!!!!

Lots of luck finding another forum which will let you post like Carl and Qiaozhi have here.

I think we should not ridicule LRL developers even if we do not believe in the technology so long as they they do not ridicule conventional metal detector developers.

They should be welcome to have their discussions amongst themselves. If they all become rich from their finds that will be their proof. If they have fun, that is good enough too. If something they discuss sounds like real engineering/science, we might be able to benefit from it. If it sounds like pseudo-science, we can ignore it and let them discuss it to their hearts content.

I think what Qiaozhi and myself included are dismayed by are LRL marketers who appear to make unsubstantiated claims for the purpose of getting people's money -- i.e. ripping them off.

I suspect such people infect sites like this to create a belief system based on pseudo-science so that they can more convincingly sell and rip off people's money. Elaborate arguments with some scientific references can be quite believable to people who are not practiced in the scientific method. The nutrition industry employs similar techniques.

I have no problem with people espousing their beliefs or investigating these concepts, just don't do it corruptly for the purpose of swindling innocent people.

Unfortunately it is impossible to tell who is pure of heart and who is corrupt. Because of that, this website, which is mostly founded on scientific method, feels a duty to show some skepticism towards claims that might lead to some people being swindled out of money. It is more in the spirit of protecting LRL-oriented members, not harassing them.

However, I'm sure that many of us (myself included) who adhere to the scientific method do sometimes feel and express that LRL technology, as presented here so far, seems to be some kind of fantasy. I suggest we should restrain ourselves in the future so long as the LRL thread is not interfering with some non-LRL topic. If LRL builders are experimenting with electronics and physics, they rightly would like to take advantage of knowledge on this site. And LRL people should be careful not to interfere with discussions where people want to proceed using the scientific method, which requires much proof and demonstration of claims. Just common courtesy.

Now, I have nothing against free-for-all hot-tempered discussions as long as we create an area for that and everybody is warned that there will not be much courtesy there, so they can have fun flaming each other. But just keep it there. We could call it the Jackass thread or something.

So to all pure-of-heart LRL'ers, I apologize if I have been rude in the past. To corrupt ones trying to get money for false claims, I say begone!
