The first part of the video he is using RMS (ionic) mode. About the middle of the video he uses ADRI (automatic) mode.

im not sure how much this guy knows. For starters the RMS sensor is not used on ADRI or MDRI modes. But you get an idea how the automatic mode works to point out the targets.
